| | "How To Save A Life" ~ The Fray | ] | So. I've finally had a live journal-worthy day so I figured I should update.
EVERYTHING was happening today. Collegefest, Ben Kweller concert, and Taking Back Sunday Concert. Yes, Maria and I hit them all.
First, at the college fest, I spent a mere $5 to get 2 big bags worth of free t-shirts (including an awesome Little Miss Sunshine shirt that says "Everybody pretend to be normal"), posters, energy drinks, vitamin waters and oh yeah, a FREE Spring Break Trip that I won! I never win anything. I was so excited that I was shaking. Unbelievable.
Then we proceeded to event #2. Free Ben Kweller Concert. By the way, he's awesomely strange and his music is amazing.
Then we went to Taking Back Sunday. It was so crowded at Gov't Center that we couldn't see a thing and left after a few songs, but still, I think it's pretty cool that I live in a city that makes it possible to do so much in one day.
Alright, back to my lame night of watching The Mermaid Chair. And yes, it is a Lifetime Original Movie. |

I CAN NOW MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE. The life that Stevie Wonder was consuming and Ann Taylor Loft continues to be consuming ALL DAY TOMORROW. That should be fun. My feet will love me after 10 hours of standing on them all day. 10:00 tomorrow night cannot come quick enough. NO MORE ANN TAYLOR. Well at least until I go home and work at the one there. Oh so much fun. Can't wait.
Alright the stress level has dropped a little for the time being. Time for bed. |

| | "Hallelujah" ~ Rufus Wainwright | ] | Dilemma/Good News:
I got a call yesterday from a man at the Hartford Symphony. I sent in my resume about a month ago for the marketing internship there and I had just complacently given up hope on hearing back from them because I have an interview at the Hartford Stage. Now I got the call and everything is messed up. They want me to intern there, no interview needed or anything. I was really relieved and happy considering that the Hartford Stage internship isn't a sure thing. I kind of had to committ to the internship over the phone, but what happens if I get the other internship and would rather work there? I have no choice now. At least I know I'll be interning somewhere though. I don't like having to lie to Hartford Stage and going on an interview when I know I'm not working there. I feel like I'm wasting their time. I put so much effort into the application, essay, and cover letter. I wish I had thought before I committed myself to the symphony.
Either way, I'm still really happy that I have an internship. It will look really good on my resume for co-op next year. |

I have the chills, I'm achey, I probably have a fever, my throat hurts...that must mean I'm going home. Ick.
Good thing though; I just got an email from a woman at Hartford Stage and she wants to interview me for the summer internship!
I wish that would make my fever go away. |

| | `"How to Save a Life" ~ The Fray | ] | I am beyond excited right now. Tomorrow is my last day of classes. I just found out that I have no Theory or Music Industry class next week and math and micro are just reviews. I'll be home tomorrow and not come back till thursday for finals! Then home for good!
PS: Does anyone have The Fray cd that you can send me? |

I'm really sick of being treated like I don't exist or don't matter. The people who are supposed to be my friends are awful to me. I put up with it. Why? Because we're roommates next year and I don't want any animosity even though they make me feel awful. |

Hey did you get some? Man that is so dumb. Her hair is everywhere. Exhale.
Dashboard concert was tonight. I finally heard all the songs you guys always sing. And of course the one song I know ALL the words to...Vindicated! Gotta love it.
Oh and after the concert was Say What? Karaoke where I met the host, Landon from Real World and shook his hand and got his autograph. ::sigh:: He's my favorite.
Mozart Requiem tomorrow at my chorus concert. I'm actually excited. I love singing the song even though I have no voice by the end. It's worth it though.
TTFN as Tigger would say! |

| | "Jesus Bo Beezus" ~ Jason Mraz | ] | I'd just like to say that I love Jake Gyllenhaul (sp?). I'm watching Jarhead.
I registered for classes yesterday. I got into this really popular class called the Record Industry. We work in a group all semester and we have to find a real band and basically manage them and then for the final the class puts on a concert with all the bands. I'm so excited. My schedule is really weird though. I have 3 classes monday, 11:45, 2:50, and an honors seminar from 5-8 which should be really interesting. Tuesday's and fridays I unfortunately have an 8AM class because the one I wanted to get into was full. Wednesday I have class at 11:45 and Thurday class at 2:50. I pretty much have only one class a day. That should be good. I'm also taking Principals of music Literature and Accounting.
For my theory final I have to make an original arrangement of the Stevie Wonder song "You are the Sunshine of My Life". It's consuming my life because I'm compulsive about assignments like this. Everyone else in the class is just writing about a song, but of course, I have to choose the harder option. At least is more interesting.
Only 6 days of classes left! 20 days till summer! I can't wait. |

| | "All of Me" ~ Count Basie | ] | It's been a stressful couple of days. Today I had my whole day planned out; class, lunch, laundry, gym, lots of studying, chorus, then more studying. Unfortunately, I had to change my plans. I got called into work because they desperately needed people. At least it's money. All the studying I planned to do had to take place after chorus at 8:30. I absolutely NEED an A on this Micro midterm since I totally forgot to answer a 50 point question on the last midterm in that class leaving me with a 153 out of 205. Not good.
Yesterday I found out about our Spring Fest. On Monday, Teddy Geiger is coming to Afterhours, then the next week the festivities begin. It's an MTV theme. The big concert is Dashboard Confessional with Jurassic 5 and some other band opening and a guy from the Beastie Boys DJing in between. Augustana is coming to Afterhours, Landon and Randy from Real World are coming, and Damien from TRL is coming. It should be fun.
Tomorrow I leave for Williamsburg for the band trip. We're going to Busch Gardens and playing there as well. I'm really looking forward to the break, not the overnight bus ride though. |
